Thanks to a Very Special Foster
Dianne Cannon, Foster Mom

Preston came into our program on February 3, 2006. He had been shot with buckshot and his elbow was fractured. In addition to this Preston turned out to be heartworm positive. A special thanks goes to Dianne Cannon, his foster mom who has fostered him in her home and brought his back to full health.

Preston was a very special situation. Most of the dogs don’t have health problems. They are just good natured, friendly Labs who need temporary sanctuary until forever homes come along.

If you are a Lab lover this is one of the most rewarding volunteer activities that you can imagine. And yes, you get attached to them. But it is also a very wonderful feeling to see them placed with a great forever home and to know that you saved the dog’s life. .

The number of labs we can help is limited by our number of Foster homes.

Everyone agrees that becoming a Foster is one of the most rewarding things they have ever done.
