Can You Help With Medical Expenses?
April brought some wonderful dogs to Lone Star Lab Rescue.
Unfortunately, several of our Labs had very serious medical conditions and we have incurred some extraordinary
veterinary expenses. Lone Star is committed to doing what ever is necessary to get our Labs healthy. These
medical expenses far exceed our adoption fee of $275. Please consider making a donation to help us provide the
care that these sweet dogs need and deserve!
Tanner
Tanner has had a very
rough few weeks. Tanner came to us as a very, very sick dog. She was rushed to the emergency veterinarian.
Later, we found that she was also extremely anemic, a sign of internal bleeding. After spending several
days in the ER and in intensive care with our vet, Tanner has slowly started to recover with her foster
mom’s TLC. We are still running tests to try to determine the cause of her anemia. Tanner is not out of
the woods yet, but she is improving!
Estimated medical cost: $1900 and still adding up.
Cassidy
Cassidy is an adult dog who came down with
parvovirus. Parvo is often fatal, especially in puppies. Luckily our vet caught it in the very early stages.
Cassidy was put on antibiotics and supportive care immediately. With almost a week of intensive care at our
vet, we were able to save Cassidy. Cass is now at home with her foster mom and recovering quickly!
Estimated medical cost: $675
Magnus
Magnus came to us with a large growth that had
to be removed. His surgery needed to be performed by a specialist to ensure that important nerves were not
damaged during the delicate surgery. Magnus is now fully recovered! We knew that Magnus would have to have this
growth removed when we rescued him. We knew it was the right thing to do to save this very special boy. To us,
Magnus is what "rescue" is all about.
Estimated medical cost: $1200
Indigo
Indigo is heartworm positive. Heartworm disease
is a serious and potentially fatal condition. Because Indy's prior owners did not give her heartworm prevention,
she will have to go through painful and dangerous treatment. The treatment is also extremely expensive.
Estimated medical cost: $450
Your donations are what help us save Labradors, one dog at a time.
Every dollar of your donation to Lone Star goes to help the Labs that desperately need help. Please consider
